The job of a legal and secretarial job is a blend of legal and secretarial duties. His job requires ensuring that all the legal documents of the company are neatly organized in a confidential manner, following instructions given by legal officers or chief legal officer, setting up appointments and organizing legal meetings between the company and its partners, other companies or banks.
Legal and secretarial officer duties and responsibilities
- Ensuring that all the legal documents of the company are regularly updated and archived as per instructions from higher officials
- May have to go to police stations, court houses or premises of other companies in order to meet workers gather required information
- Contacting legal secretaries of different companies and setting up appointments for legal meetings
- Being present during meetings and taking notes about the proceedings
- May be required to provide useful feedback about the meetings
- Arranging tax forms and filing returns
- Performing different secretarial duties such as getting final drafts of contracts printed, getting suitable forms, making copies printing minutes of meetings and other such duties with regard to all legal matters
- Drafting letters and summons whenever required
- Overseeing the functioning and performance of legal secretaries of the company

- Experience as legal secretary of at least 5 years is required to rise to the post of legal and secretarial officer

- While entry level officers earn about $40,000 per year, experienced officers can earn up to $65,000 per annum
