Medical Career Description

A career in the medical field is one of the most mentally and physically demanding of human endeavors.  At its barest minimum, a medical career is all about enabling people to preserve a healthy body as along as possible.  At the core of a medical career is the medical doctor which is usually what springs to mind when anyone mentions the word “medical.”  But the medical career is not limited to being a doctor.  It’s essentially any profession that thrives in the health care industry.

  • There’s an A – Z of positions in the medical profession with less than a hundred professions categorized under the medical carrier clusters, starting from an athletic fitness trainer, audiologist, biomedical engineer, community and social health workers, dentists, dietician, hospital administrator and billing/coding clerks, medical assistants, technologists and technicians, dentists, nurses, optometrists, psychologists, surgeons, veterinarians and X-ray technicians, just to mention a few.
  • Apart from the various specialists treating various parts and body systems and the nursing profession, the medical career covers positions in the technical and engineering areas to ensure that health care professional have and use the right equipment to diagnose and treat various diseases.
  • Pharmaceutical positions dealing with the research and marketing of drugs for treating diseases are another.
  • Then there are the laboratory professions that perform tests on tissue, blood and other fluids extracted from the human body.
  • In addition, you have social workers, body fitness trainers, dieticians, physical therapists, reproduction specialists, hearing and speech specialists as well and educators.
  • A special medical profession are medical illustrators who make it a lot easier for medical students learn, whether in print or on the internet.
